Garden Blessing

The month of May is a wonderful time to perform a garden blessing. You can do it at planting time or just after planting. If it’s still too early in your region for planting, save this spell for later in the season or use it to bless seeds or seedlings before planting them outside. You can also use it for an indoor garden – houseplants need blessing too!

Ideally for this spell you need a tall container or lantern for your candle – you’ll be carrying it around outside and you don’t want it to be blown out during hte spell. But be careful not to burn yourself! The tops of some lanterns can get hot.

Since the spell requires you to allow the candle to burn out, you may wish to use a tea light since they only burn for a few hours. Or, if you prefer to use a larger candle, repeat the spell on successive days or nights, allowing the candle to burn for an hour or two each time until it’s spent. You could begin during the waxing moon and complete the spell on the full moon. Alternately, perform this spell on Beltane.

If you don’t have an outdoor garden, this spell can easily be adapted for any situation. If you have a balcony garden or even just a windowsill you can walk around containers or gesture around them.

If possible, perform this spell during a waxing or full moon phase. Prepare your candle by anointing it as desired, and place it inside the container.

Walk around the garden clockwise three times. The first time, chant these words and keep repeating if you have a large garden space:

Earth, air, fire, and water nourish,
help these plants grow strong and flourish.

The second time as you walk, say these words followed by the name of every plant in the garden.

By the power of this flame, I bless you as I call your name: (list the plants).

The third time, chant these words. Again, repeat the chant as many times as necessary:

Bless this garden safe and sound -
bless these plants, bless this ground.

After the third walk around the garden is complete place the lantern or candleholder in a safe area either in the garden or near it and allow the candle to burn out. Say these words as you place the candle:

By this candle’s power, bless every leaf and bud and flower.

Don’t eave the candle unattended; be sure to stay nearby so you can keep an eye on it.

Optional: carry a clear quartz crystal point or cluster (or other stone of your choice) with you as you walk, and place it in your garden during your third walk around it.

Healing Spell Bottle

This is a spell to help someone who is ill or suffering in some manner. In this case, the hair will be surrounded by objects bearing healing energy, thus causing hte owner of the hair to be enveloped by healing influences as well.

You will need:

  • Piece of hair from the person in need of healing
  • Bottle or jar with a tight lid
  • 3 cotton balls
  • Tea tree oil
  • Quartz crystal
  • Dried lavender, chamomile and jasmine to fill the entire bottle or jar

Find a quit spot to cast your spell. Hold the piece of hair in your hand and visualize the person it belongs to. Imagine them fully cured, happy, and healthy. Place the hair into the bottle.

The next step uses the tree oil and the cotton balls. Tea tree oil is known for ots purifying properties and, in this case, signifies the cleansing of illness or unwanted forces. The cotton balls represent a soft and gentle energy that will surround the person while they heal. Put a drop of tea tree oil on each cotton ball, and put them in the jar. Imagine the person in question surrounded by softness, comfort, and nurturance while recovering.

Take the dried jasmine and inhale its scent. Imagine it glowing with a restful light blue aura. Place it in the jar. Repeat this with the other herbs, filling the jar or bottle. Place the quartz crystal on the top of the herbs to amplify the power of hte other ingredients, and hten put the lid on tightly.

Now the hair is surrounded by softness, cleansing energy, and herbs with healing vibrations. Because this is sympathetic or imitative magick, the person you are doing the spell for is also surrounded by thse benevolent forces.

Keep the healing bottle in a warm, sunny spot. Each day, hold hte bottle and spend osme time visualizing the person in perfect health. Continue to do this until they improve.

Remember to combine this spell with appropriate medical care.

Other Hair Magick

Hair magick can be performed without removing a single piece form your head. There are lots of ways to add some enchantment to your hair care routine, to attract the energies you desire, and to repel those you don’t.

Essential Oils: You can add a few drops of essential oil to your shampoo or conditioner. Remember to only add a small amount so that it doesn’t compromise the product. Try mint for prosperity, rosemary for protection, or chamomile for peace.

Braids: If you have long hair, you can use knot magick to attract your desires. While braiding your hair, visualize what you would like to bring into your life. When you tie the elastic in place, state, “It is done.” Repeat this every time you braid your hait until the thing you seek comes to you.

Cleansing: Every New Moon, pull the hair out of your hairbrush and safely burn it while letting go of everything you no longer need. This will clear out all the stagnant energy from the last Moon cycle, clearing th way for growth and new beginnings.

Crystals: Quartz crystal amplifies your personal power and boosts spiritual awareness. Place a quartz crystal in your bottle of shampoo or other hair product. The energy from the quartz crystal will linger every time you wash your hair. You can do this with other crystals as well according to what you want to attract. Just make sure the crytals you choose won’t be ruined by being immersed in liquid.
