Transformative Bubbles

By themselves, bubbles are great for lifting spirits. It’s nearly impossible to feel negative around them. But of course, we’re Witches, so we’re going to make bubbles that magically transform our energy to match our desires.

Buy a transluscnet bottle of bubbles in a color that corresponds to the energy you wish to cultivate. For example, a blue bottle could bring serenity, and a purple bottle would be perferct for spirituality. A bottle in a sunny color can bring cheer, and a red bottle would call forth love. It doesn’t hurt to spend a few extra dollars on this purchase – it could mean the difference between bubbles that last a couple senconds and ones that last for much longer.

Remove the label and cleanse the outside of the bottle with soap and water. Allow it to air dry. Next, place the bottle in moonlight or sunlight, whichever corresponds best with your intention. Full moonlight will call forth a gentle, emotional energy, and sunlight will instill the bubbles with more powerful, logical energy. As the bottle bathes in the light, as for a blessing from the Sun or the Moon for your purposes: for examples, “I call upon the energy fo the moon to bless these bubbles with emotional wisdom and magic.”

When you’re ready to enchnat your bubbles, drop a crystal that’s not water-soluble intot he charged liquid. Some of the best crystals for this are clear quartz, rose quartz, citrine, and amethyst. Say what you wish it to do: for example, “With this piece of amethyst, I call upon the energy of serenity.”

Place your hands around the bottle and repeat your intention one more time: “I call upon the energy of serenity to bless these bubbles.” Create teh energy of serenity in your mind and body, and then send the serenity through your hands and into the bottle. When the energy transfer feels complete, cap the bubbles ad write the purpose on the bottle with a permanent marker. Keep it on your air shrine to charge them up for later use.

The next time you’re feeling the opposite emotion of the magical transformative bubbles, take your bubbles outside and open them up. Dip the wand in the solution, hold it before you, draw a deep breath, and say something like, “I release the emotion of anger and encase it in serenity” or “I release any blocks I have to feeling serenity.”

Blow into the wand. You’ll have to blow out at just the right speed – too fast and the bubbles will pop. Too slow and nothing will come out. Find the just-right breath to create bubbles.

When you blow the bubbles, see them as the energy that you wished to release trapped in a shell of your desired energy. In our examples, that would be anger encase in serenity. Watch the bubbles float away from you, and feel the emotion leave from you. Repeat as many times as you need to release the emotion.

An Autumn Banishing Spell

  • Blue candle
  • Black candle
  • Lighter or matches
  • Knife
  • 1 apple, preferably one that was grown near you
  • 1 fresh mint leaf
  • 1 black ribbon or cord
  • Wooden skewer or toothpicks

On the evening of a waning Moon, face west with both of the candles in front of you. As you light the blue candle, say these words:

I light the blue for the presence of helpful feminine energy.

Picture cleansing water flowing underground, away from you, through brooks and streams and rivers and into oceans adn seas. As the water flows it carries away debris and waste.

Light the black candle and say,

I call upon the waning powers of the Moon, who rules these cleansing flowing waters, to banish the thing I shall not name.

As you say these words, visualize the thing you wish to banish as a dark blob with a feeling attached to it, but nameless and unformed.

Cut the apple in half horizontally so that its inner pentagram is revealed. Rub the lower half inside with the mint leaf while visualizing the dark blob. Put the two halves of the apple back together with teh mint leaf between them and fasten them together securely with the wooden sewer, then wrap it up with the black cord or ribbon. Blow out the black candle and cry out,

So mote it be!

Gently extinguish the blue candle and give it thanks.

Bury the apple immediately, not on your property or anywhere you normally pass by. As the apple rots away underground, sho shall your problem diminish and disappear.

Summer Solstice Astrological Activities

Depending where you live and what your communitity lis like, there are many ways to honor the solstice. Beginning in the morning, travel or face east to seethe sun rise. Invoke the direction of the east and all its creatures and plants, and any other associations you have with the east. Recognize solar animals, like Eagle, Hawk, Swan, and Horse. You may also visualize creatures of the water, such as Seal, and any other animal life special and unique to you.

Sun salutiations are a physical way to open to the Sun, feel your strength, and increase your life force. Remember to breathe well as you move, first raising arms and open hands to the sky as you breathe in, and folding forward agently toward the earth with head and hands as you exhale. Salutations can bea s simle as this, repeating the upward and downward flow, or other postures like planks, backbends, and downward dogs can be added fora yoga-style Sun A salute. Greet the season and yourself with gratitude and joy.

Use fire and smoke as a way of cleansing and releasing during this waning Moon. At sunrise or sunset, light a bunde of sage or mugwort and burn until there are glowing embers. Gently blow on the flame to diminish it, then sage around your body, shaking the bundle safely around your or someone else. (Be very careful around hair and clothing. You needn’t get too close to skin or hair to receive the clearing.) Working with mugwort is said to stimulate dreams.

Meditate on your tarot cards during solstice. Ace and Page of Wands align with both the fire energy of peak Suna nd with this year’s Moon in Aries, the first fire sign. The Chariot, long associated with the Sun’s journey into Cancer, and the Sun card, representing youth, are also cards of Litha. On your altar or windowsill, set up your solstice spell to invite the energy and vitality of this season. Crystals such as citrine, yellow calcite, or perhaps some rose quartz for the heart enhance your spell. Understand your own intentions at Midsummer and clarify any release you are approaching as you cross the threshold.

Other Hair Magick

Hair magick can be performed without removing a single piece form your head. There are lots of ways to add some enchantment to your hair care routine, to attract the energies you desire, and to repel those you don’t.

Essential Oils: You can add a few drops of essential oil to your shampoo or conditioner. Remember to only add a small amount so that it doesn’t compromise the product. Try mint for prosperity, rosemary for protection, or chamomile for peace.

Braids: If you have long hair, you can use knot magick to attract your desires. While braiding your hair, visualize what you would like to bring into your life. When you tie the elastic in place, state, “It is done.” Repeat this every time you braid your hait until the thing you seek comes to you.

Cleansing: Every New Moon, pull the hair out of your hairbrush and safely burn it while letting go of everything you no longer need. This will clear out all the stagnant energy from the last Moon cycle, clearing th way for growth and new beginnings.

Crystals: Quartz crystal amplifies your personal power and boosts spiritual awareness. Place a quartz crystal in your bottle of shampoo or other hair product. The energy from the quartz crystal will linger every time you wash your hair. You can do this with other crystals as well according to what you want to attract. Just make sure the crytals you choose won’t be ruined by being immersed in liquid.
