Fivefold & Sevenfold Blessing

Fivefold Blessing Variation

From this blessing comes the familiar expression among Witches, “Blessed be.” This is often used as a greeting or as a farewell. The blessing can be accompanied with a huge and kiss, and/or anointing with oil. This is the Fivefold Blessing: 

Blessed be thy feet, that bring thee on this path.  
Blessed be thy knees, that kneel to the Lord and Lady.  
Blessed be thy womb, without which we would not be.  
Blessed be thy breasts, formed in beauty and in strength.  
Blessed be thy lips, that speak (utter) the sacred names.  [1]

Sevenfold Blessing

The Sevenfold Blessing begins by asking for a blessing from the Goddess, and adds a blessing for the eyes to see her path and for the nose to breathe in her essence. It drops the blessing for hte knees, and changes the womb to the loins. Depending on the tradition, the blessings move from feet to lips or lips to feet. 

Blessed be my feet, that take me on my path.  
Blessed be my knees, that support me before the Divine.  
Blessed be my abdomen, that gives me inner strength.  
Blessed be my breast, that holds my heart true to them.  
Blessed be my lips, that speak the secret names.  
Blessed be my eyes, that see the beauty of their love.  
Blessed be my mind, that seeks their knowledge and wisdom.   [1]

Yellow – Air Elemental, divination, clairvoyance, mental alertness, intellectual growth, prosperity, learning, changes, harmony, creativity. [1]

Using Colored Oils to Balance the Chakras: Yellow stimulates the solar plexus chakra and the mental faculties. Use bergamot, lavender, aniseed, lemongrass, eucalyptus, melissa (lemon balm) or rosemary oils. [2]

Intellectual development, strength of mind, learning, study, eloquence, joy, air spirits, vision, solar plexus chakra, the planet Mercury, the element of air, Ostara, Leo. [2]

Yellow is an excellent color for those involved with divination. [3]

White (Color)

White – the Lady and the Lord together, full moon magic, purity, protection, truth, meditation, peace, sincerity, justice, warding of doubts and fears. [1]

Using Colored Oils to Balance the Chakras: White is a cleansing and purifying color. It is used to balance the crown chakra. Use frankincense, myrrh, sage, clary sage, or sandalwood oil. [2]

Peace, cleansing, defensive magic, protection, purity, harmony, spirit, psychic development, the dispelling of negativity, purification, tranquility, Imbolc, maiden goddesses, waxing moon, crown chakra. [2]

Symbolizes purification and pure spirituality, and also is perfect for meditation and cleansing rituals. It is worn for Full Moon celebrations, or to attune with the Goddess. [3]

Crescent Moon, purity, peace. [4]

Violet (Color)

Violet – Self-improvement, intuition, success in searches. [1]

Using Colored Oils to Balance the Chakras: Violet is a healing color that works on both the physical and spiritual levels. It is used to stimulate the third eye chakra and awaken deeper levels of consciousness. Use aniseed, cedar, chamomile, clary sage, juniper, lemongrass, or neroli oil. [2]

Using Colored Oils to Balance the Chakras: Red is a stimulating color that can be applies to the root chakra to activate it and stimulate the flow of the physical life force, improving vitality. Use ginger, black pepper, cardamom, patchouli, or cinnamon oil. [2]

Life, vitality, energy, sex drive, passion, lust, conflict, competition, courage, strength, health, root chakra, Yule, Midsummer, fire spirits, mother goddesses, warrior gods, the planet Mars, the element of fire. [2]

Orange or red robes can be worn to Sabbats, for protective rites or when attuning with the God in His fiery Solar aspect. [3]
